Established fall 1980 The Trillium's Courtyard Florist, formerly The Trillium Floral Shoppe, is known as one of the most innovative florists in Western New York.

Cathy and Mike McGovern opened the doors of their store in October 1980 as The Trillium Floral Shoppe. Three expansions later we merged with The Courtyards Florist, thus the new name Trillium's Courtyard Florist. With a staff of 12, 5 designers, 2 salespeople, 3 drivers and 2 support staff, we are very fortunate to have 3 employees who have been with us for over 20 year.

It has been a fun and wonderful journey full of great memories and great customers many who were here when we opened. We are part of one of Buffalo's best neighborhoods and communities, and have numerous memorable events and life stories that we have been a part of.

As a florist we have the incredible honor of being a part of people's lives from beginning to end accentuating all the highlights with flowers. We have watched babies grow up, have been a floral part of their dance recitals, graduations, marriages, and having babies themselves and so it goes.

...the philosophy behind our name

The Great White Trillium (T.grandiflorum): A perennial that changes color from white to pink to maroon during the three weeks of flowering in early May. The Trillium is a protected wildflower found throughout the rich woodlands of northeast America.

Very few flowers change color. Therefore, the Trillium flower was a perfect choice to represent change. We believe our business must be able to change with the needs of our customers. We will always offer the finest quality flowers available, as well as trend-setting and traditional styles of design. Our experienced design and sales staff are capable of helping your ever changing floral needs.
